HOW to TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE CLSs

​

1. Be sure to have a copy of the CLS’s for each class.

2. Tape them to the back of the first page of the class folder or notebook.

3. Rewrite them, in your own words (paraphrase), on the first page of the notebook.

4. Keep track of the CLS's used each day.

5. Identify the CLS’s used on each assignment and class activity.  

6. Keep track of your success and growth for each CLS.

7. Study with the CLS’s in front of you in order to make connections between your work and them.

DO NOT/DO THIS

 

• DO combine the usage of  Bloom’s Taxonomy with the learning of the CLS’s! Watch your learning and successes in class increase quickly as a result.

  • Example  

    • Comma work for the day

      • What CLS’s is being used? (6)

      • Have you looked at the Bloom’s Taxonomy with this assignment?

        • Be sure to do one activity from each level of Bloom’s.

        • If the top level of Bloom’s is reached, then true learning has taken place. So in this case, if you could teach comma use or create examples correctly, you have mastered the CLS and worked at the top level of Bloom’s.  

• DO NOT think that rewriting the CLS’s once or looking at the classroom poster means learning has taken place.
